Case Study Booklet Design for CInI Jharkhand: Visual Storytelling for Education and Community Change

For the CInI Jharkhand publication, Stories of Change from School and Community Based Quality Improvement Program, Jharkhand, Gateway Graphics worked as the layout and design partner. The assignment focused on shaping approved programme stories into a clear, structured booklet for institutional communication.

Project Context

The CInI Jharkhand booklet brought together approved stories connected with schools, communities and education-system initiatives in Jharkhand. The publication needed to present this material as a coherent communication asset while retaining the context of individual stories.

Communication Challenge

The communication task was to organise field-based programme material into a readable publication format. This involved balancing case stories, photographs, programme information and visual consistency so that the booklet could be used as a clear institutional publication.

Gateway’s Role

Gateway’s verified role covered publication design, visual storytelling, page structuring, image treatment and infographic presentation. Our work concerned the visual, editorial and publication communication of approved programme material; Gateway did not implement or independently evaluate the programme.

How the Work Was Shaped

The publication was shaped through a consistent visual language, page flow and hierarchy. The square format, image treatment, hand-drawn elements and infographic presentation helped organise narrative and information across the booklet while keeping the visual approach appropriate to the subject matter.
